hr tech startup research

Research overview

We examined 486 startups operating in the HR sector on the global market, and nearly fifty Hungarian HR tech ventures, to map how they are developing. The aim was to measure the total sum invested in the sector—and to see whether investors actually know how the money was put to use, and how they judge the probability of an investment succeeding. What is the lesson?

The study sets out eight scientific criteria for examining HR tech companies in a unified, systematic way. For the HRMS, talent acquisition, employee engagement and analytics categories, six of them are sufficient; the job marketplace category was analysed without them.

“One of the most important criteria for a startup’s success is that it answers a real problem. That, among other things, is what this survey shows. The cheapest way to learn is from other people’s examples. Thank you, Zsolt.”
